Maya, who is in 4th grade, and Andreah, a fifth grader, both smiled broadly as they shook hands with Van Hollen and accepted their certificates in front of the full student body and a large supportive crowd of District officials, Club staff, family and friends.

Maya outlasted contestants from six other Clubs in communities that also have Festivals Foods stores, and judges were forced to a secondary list of words before finding a winner because all participants were so good.  Andrea, along with her family, a teacher and Club staff member will be invited to Madison this summer to the ‘Missing Children’s’ ceremony and her winning art piece will be sent to Washington D.C. as part of a national competition.

Oh, by the way, both Maya and Andrea are Boys & Girls Club of Green Bay members in case you were wondering.  🙂
